What Still Remains

The morning after is quieter than the night before.
Nothing dramatic changes,
yet something within us has shifted.
We wake not lighter,
but more aware of what we choose to carry forward.

The poem follows

Morning does not erase the night.
It only teaches light
where to enter.

Some weight stays
not as burden,
but as reminder
that we survived yesterday
and woke up anyway.

The body remembers before the mind does.
A tired breath.
A slower step.
Hands that reach for familiarity
before ambition.

I move carefully now,
choosing what deserves my energy.
Not everything that asks for me
is owed an answer.

There is a quiet wisdom
in arranging the day gently
placing effort where it matters,
leaving space where it heals.

I am learning that living well
is less about carrying more,
and more about knowing
when to set things down.

Some mornings,
peace arrives unnoticed
in warm light across a table,
in stillness that doesnโ€™t demand proof,
in the simple act of beginning again.

Written in the pauses of everyday life,
where small comforts matter
and mindful choices still believe in kindness.

What do I get from writing poetry, quotes and Fundraising

๐ŸŒน Someone once asked me:โ€œWhat do you get out of writing poetry, quotes, and fundraising for charities?โ€The truth? I donโ€™t get much in the material sense. But I gain something far greater:

โœจ The joy of turning words into hope.

โœจ The chance to give voice to those who feel unseen.

โœจ The opportunity to let art serve a purpose bigger than myself.Thatโ€™s why I wrote If Rose Could Talkโ€”a poem reminding working professionals to pause, breathe, and remember their worth.

For me, poetry is not just about beauty, itโ€™s about impact.I donโ€™t just write for myselfโ€”I write so words can bloom into kindness. ๐ŸŒน

What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

If I could ask for one changeโ€”just oneโ€”from the words I share here, it would be this:

That we remember how deeply we need each other.

Not just in moments of crisis, not just when headlines remind us of suffering, but in the quiet, everyday spaces of life. The way a kind word softens someone’s day. The way shared stories remind us weโ€™re not alone. The way a simple act of givingโ€”whether food, time, or listeningโ€”can be a turning point in another personโ€™s life.

My blog isnโ€™t just about ideas, itโ€™s about connection.
Itโ€™s about building a placeโ€”however smallโ€”where we remember that compassion isnโ€™t weakness, itโ€™s strength. That empathy isnโ€™t a luxury, but a foundation. That when we choose to lift one another, even in the smallest of ways, we are building something far greater than ourselves.

I want this space to be a quiet rebellion against indifference.

A reminder that even when the world seems hardened, you still have the power to soften itโ€”through your words, your presence, your care.

What if we stopped seeing people as strangersโ€ฆ and started seeing them as stories waiting to be heard?
What if we treated kindness not as a random act, but a conscious practice?

That is the change I hope this blog brings.

To inspire a deeper commitment to helping one another, to showing up with honesty, and to creating community where no one feels invisible

Because the truth is:
The world doesnโ€™t change because of grand gestures.
It changes because we choose, again and again, to care.

So let this blog be a place where care lives.
Where trust is nurtured.
Where hope is kept alive not through perfection, but through the simple, sacred act of showing upโ€”for one another.

Thorns: The Pain of Beauty

Thorns: The Pain of Beauty

They admire my petals,
soft as whispers, kissed by the sun.
They reach for me,
drawn by my fragrance, intoxicated by my hue.
But they forgetโ€”
beauty does not come without pain.

My thorns stand guard,
etched in the flesh of those
who hold me carelessly,
who pluck without thought,
who love without knowing
that love has a cost.

I did not choose themโ€”these thorns.
They grew with me,
woven into my being,
etched in my spine,
a silent testament that even beauty
must learn how to defend itself.

Yet, even I wonderโ€”
Am I the flower, or am I the thorns?
Am I the softness, or the strength?
Perhaps I am both.
Perhaps I must be.

For the world is not kind to the unguarded.
And though I ache to be held without harm,
I knowโ€”
without my thorns,
I would not survive.

While writing this poem I have used Free Verse style.

Explanation: Free verse allows for an organic and emotional flow, mirroring the unpredictability of lifeโ€™s struggles. Without a rigid rhyme scheme or meter, it captures the raw emotions of pain, resilience, and self-discovery. Just like thorns on a rose, lifeโ€™s challenges do not follow a structured patternโ€”they emerge naturally, shaping us in unexpected ways. This form gives the poem a conversational yet deeply introspective feel, making it more relatable and impactful for readers.

Questions for you

๐ŸŒน Have you ever felt like your struggles were a part of you, just like the thorns on a rose? How did they shape you?

๐ŸŒฟ Do you think thorns are a sign of strength or a reminder of pain? Or perhaps both?

๐Ÿ’” If beauty comes with struggle, what do you think is the “thorn” in your own journey? How has it helped you grow?

WHAT IF

This is my poem about various emotions and feelings of failure and success ๐Ÿ™Œ and a journey of life. Please read and like, share and comment. Please do tell me what you like or dislike about this poem.

What If

What if success was a fleeting breeze,
Not meant to stay, but to teach and tease?
Would you chase it still with all your might,
Knowing the journey births the light?

What if failure was not the end,
But a quiet guide, a patient friend?
Would you embrace its tender sting,
And rise anew with strengthened wings?

What if setbacks paved the way,
To brighter dawns and bolder days?
Would you see them as stepping stones,
Not weights that drag, but seeds well sown?

What if goals were stars so far,
Glinting hope in the midnight’s jar?
Would you dare to dream despite the night,
Trusting effort turns dark to light?

What if achievements were just the start,
A fleeting triumph, a work of art?
Would you rest or push for more,
Knowing growth lies beyond the shore?

What if effort was the truest prize,
The sweat, the tears, the endless tries?
Would you cherish the toil, the climb,
Each step a rhythm, each stumble a rhyme?

What if you believed in your heart’s refrain,
That every loss feeds future gain?
Would you stand tall, steadfast and free,
Knowing the best is yet to be?

What if, dear soul, you chose today,
To walk the path, come what may?
With dreams as your guide and courage your sword,
Youโ€™ll find success your grand reward.
